Questions about China to Tunisia

How long does sea freight from China to Tunisia take?

Usually about 30 to 40 days from port to port, depending on the port of loading, the carrier and the port where the container changes ship on the way. We confirm the transit time and the next sailing with your quote, and keep you updated at every stage.

Buying FOB lets you choose the carrier and keep control of the cost from the Chinese port onwards; under CIF your supplier books the freight and you still pay the charges in Tunisia. Our guide FOB vs CIF compares both.

Not always. When you have less than a container, a shared container (LCL) is often cheaper; we compare both options in your quote. See Container types: which one fits your cargo.

We clear the goods through Tunisian customs, settle the port charges listed in the quote, deliver to you and return the empty container on time. See Demurrage and detention: how to avoid them.

Documents and duties for imports from China

For a sea shipment from China, Tunisian customs usually ask for the commercial invoice, the packing list and the bill of lading, plus certificates for regulated goods. Check the file with us before your supplier ships: a vague description or a missing certificate is a common reason for goods to wait at the port.

Import duties and taxes in Tunisia depend on the tariff code of your goods. We help you find the right code and show duties and taxes separately in the quote, so you know the landed cost before you order. Our guide Customs clearance: keeping your goods moving explains each step.
